An experienced chartered accountant, Brian has been involved in the financial services industry since 1987. Originally with PWC and then a partner in BDO, he has worked in the BVI, Switzerland, London and Hong Kong. He has experience in the financial detail of most types of BVI company and has at various times been a director of fund companies, investment holding companies, trust companies, secretarial and outsourcing companies, finance companies and headquarters companies.
Presently a director of ESA Solutions Limited, he is looking forward to the challenge of bringing his experience to the new world of “substance” solutions initially in the BVI and then in other jurisdictions.

John is an international expert in offshore financial matters having lived and worked in the Caribbean since 1997 and in the British Virgin Islands since 2001. He is an insolvency, restructuring and legal practitioner with over 25 years extensive experience in the City of London and in the Caribbean specialising as a corporate, banking, trusts, insolvency and financial services lawyer. Both as a lawyer and an insolvency practitioner he has been involved in some of the most high-profile cross border liquidations and restructurings covering UK, Eastern Europe, Asia, Middle East, USA, Latin American and the Caribbean. He was one of the founding partner of an offshore international law firm operating across 8 jurisdictions, specialising in insolvency, banking, setting up and restructuring hedge funds, trusts and corporate entities. Prior to this he worked with HSBC Holdings plc for 7 years as a specialist insolvency lawyer in the bank’s work out and debt trading international division of HSBC. In Latin America, John was involved in a number of debt for equity swaps in acquiring interest in a number of banks throughout Latin America. He represented HSBC on the Emerging Market Traders Association. John acts as a director of a number of companies and investment vehicles in BVI, Cayman Islands, Nevis, Ireland, and Eastern Europe.
Originally from Grenada, Phillip was transferred to the British Virgin Islands in the early 1970’s as a senior officer with Barclays Bank. After leaving the Bank in 1974, he worked with two companies as their accountant and in 1982 founded the AMS Group. He was joined at AMS by Brian in 1987 and the Group grew into one of the largest locally owned Trust Companies in the BVI. The accounting arm eventually became a member of the international firm of BDO. He retired from AMS in 1997 and subsequently was appointed in 2001, by the Government of the BVI, as one of the original Commissioners of the newly formed BVI Financial Services Commission. The Commission has responsibility for overseeing all financial institutions operating from or within the BVI. He served in that capacity until retiring in 2014. He still maintains directorships in certain companies both locally and internationally.

Originally from the British Virgin Islands, Kate joins the team with 14 year experience across multiple corporate disciplines. Prior to joining ESA Solutions Limited , Kate worked as an office manager in a big four accounting firm on Island and also as a director/owner of a local Health Club, and brings with her strong financial, analytical and people management skills. She has vast experience in development and implementation of business guidelines and strategies with a proven track record of excellence in operation and facilities management.
